We reported yesterday on Duke Nukem 3D’s release onto the Android Market and of its unusual decision to include ads even though it was a paid app. I personally didn’t agree with the move and we asked our readers what they thought, but apparently there were a boatload of other users out there already lighting up Duke’s “user review” section with unfavorable mentions. Apparently Duke got the message and has decided to give the “Mighty Boot” to the ads in Duke Nukem 3D. If you head over to the Android Market, you will notice at the top of the description for Duke Nukem 3D, Duke has said “No Ads!” and an update has been added to remove them. Anyone who purchased the app can update to the new version and those looking to buy the game need not worry about it.
So that’s that folks. Your voices were heard and the devs were smart enough to listen and make the necessary changes (now it’s the governments turn). I applaud devs that listen to their users and do the right thing. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Duke Nukem 3D for Android, hit up the link below and grab the game for a cheap $.99.
